Climate Change Perspective:
Ice the Earth's Tape Recorder
The
Earth's polar ice caps and glaciers have been forming and reforming
for millions of years, each year trapping layer upon layer of
telltale atmospheric particles. Particles that show us the
past and the future.
Frozen for centuries in the ice these particles provide a
scientifically accurate view of the Earth's climate changes
and weather patterns throughout history. Think of the ice as the
Earth's giant
climatologic tape recorder. So for all of the 'Global Warming'
alarmists out there here’s a bit of factual scientific data that may
be difficult for them to ignore.
1.) Ice core samples clearly illustrate that the Earth’s climate is
very dynamic and cyclical.
2.) Extreme warming periods shifting to extreme cold period (ice
ages) occurs approximately every 200 to 250 thousand years.
3.) Ice core samples consistently show that CO2 increases
approximately 800 years ‘after’ each period of global temperature
increase.
4.) There was more CO2 in the atmosphere 325 thousand years ago then
there is today.
5.) CO2 levels have been higher than today three times within the
last 200 years.
6.) 95% of all of the CO2 in our atmosphere is generated by nature.
7.) Only 5% of the CO2 is a result of human activity.
8.) Contrary to what the Global Warming alarmists say, the Earth is
now entering into a cooling period.
If you ask a ‘real’ climate scientist or solar physicist they will
verify that the Earth has indeed entered into a cooling period and
that it will peak in about 20 years.
So forget the extra sun tan lotion, you may want to invest in a good
parka and gloves.

Global Warming 55 Million
Years Ago:
What caused the
massive Ice Sheets of Earth's Four Major Ice Ages to melt?
Nearly 55 million
years ago a massive release of methane gas took place. The cause of
this release was a gigantic under sea eruption of methane hydrates. The
eruption brought about a period of global warming called the Thermal
Maximum which warmed the planet by 13 degrees Fahrenheit.
Scientists speculate
that it could happen again! Today there are massive deposits of methane
hydrates frozen beneath the oceans at various locations around our
planet.
Most greenhouse gas
studies focus on carbon dioxide, however methane is 20 times more potent
as a heat-trapping gas in the atmosphere. Over the last 200 years the
levels of methane in Earth’s atmosphere has more than doubled

What Are the Causes of
Climate Change?

- Solar Cycles - The sun's
intensity is variable and changes periodically. the sun's
cycle is generally accepted by scientists as an 11 year cycle.
Currently, we are at the end of a high-activity period (warming) and
the next several years will likely be cooler.
Some scientists believe we are entering into a 'mini Ice Age.'
- Volcanism - Volcanic
eruptions spew millions of tons of ash and volcanic particles into
the atmosphere. A single eruption, such as Mt Pinatubo in 1991
can reduce solar energy reaching the planet and cause significant
cooling, in this case the global effect was .9 degrees Fahrenheit.
Massive eruptions known as "Igneous Provinces" occur every few
million years and can alter the climate for tens of thousands of
years and cause mass extinctions of life.
- Plate Tectonics -
Over time, the Earth's massive plates shift which repositions entire
continents and reshape the oceans. This changes the pattern of
ocean currents which act as a 'conveyer belt' for weather patterns
and temperature modulations. Plate tectonics also release
massive amounts of gases, such as frozen methane, from the depths of
the Earth into the atmosphere.
- Ocean Variability -
The interaction of the ocean and our climate is far more critical
then most people realize. Many climate fluctuations contribute
to storing and redistributing heat or cold and maintain the 'life
balance' of both the fishes of the seas as well as all living
creatures (including man) on Earth. If these patterns are
disrupted, areas that once were heavily forested can become deserts,
and deserts can become jungles.
For example, approximately 8,000 years ago, much of the Sahara
Desert (the world's largest and harshest desert) was forested and
arable land.
- Orbital Variations - Over
time, the Earth's orbit fluctuates contributing to shifts in solar
absorption from one area of the Earth's surface to the next.
These orbital variations are called "Milankovitch cycles" and can
directly effect glacial activity as well as contribute to the
dominant seasonal cycles of Earth.
